Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a security officer to oversee custody and care of detainees and enforce facility rules. You will monitor activities, manage movements, and respond to emergencies across multiple posts within the facility.

The role requires vigilance, the ability to work extended shifts, and a commitment to safety. This is an on-site position with comprehensive benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in security settings preferred.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor detainees in living, recreation, dining, and visitation areas.
• Coordinate detainee movements, conduct counts, and respond to emergencies.
• Work across posts including control room, health services, and perimeter security.
• Provide security for program activities and supervise labor crews.
• Conduct shakedowns for contraband and confiscate items per policy.
• Prepare disciplinary reports and maintain daily logs.
• Assist detainees in injury, illness, or trauma situations.
• Promote facility cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
• Serve on special teams for emergencies as required.
• Complete training courses per facility standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
