Job summary

The Arcadia Family of Companies is seeking a Full-Time Clerical professional in Honolulu, HI. The role offers an hourly pay range of $19.17 to $23.96 and a benefits package including health coverage, a 403(b) with employer contributions, and vacation/holiday leave.

You will support the Programs Department by coordinating activities and managing schedules. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm, with some flexibility for special events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 2-4 years related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and coordinates activities such as exercises, games, excursions, musical and cultural programs, and lectures for residents to socialize and foster mental, emotional and social interests.
  • Regulates content of programs in accordance with budget and residents' needs and capabilities.
  • Organizes outings and accompanies residents on excursions or luncheons.
  • Maintains program flyers, calendars and bulletin boards; coordinates events with other departments.
  • Sets up AV equipment and coordinates Memorial Services as needed.
  • Provides backup for all Programs Department duties.

Assists the Programs Manager in the daily operations of our dynamic Programs Department. Your role involves crafting, executing, and coordinating engaging programs that enhance thelifestylefor both independent and assisted living residents within our vibrant community. Location - Arcadia Retirement Residence (Punahou)

The following shift is available:

  • Full-Time (35-40 hours per week); Typical schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm; Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to support programming or special events with shifts scheduled between 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Pay Range
  • $19.17 to $23.96 Hourly
Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements and coordinates such activities as exercises, games, excursions, musical and cultural programs, and lectures to independent and assisted living residents to develop interpersonal relationships, to socialize effectively, and to foster mental, emotional and social interests.
  • Works with the Programs Manager to regulate content of programs in accordance with budget and residents' capabilities, needs and interests.
  • Organizes and coordinates special outings, andaccompaniesresidents on outings such as excursions, luncheons, or sightseeing.
  • Designs, develops, organizes, coordinates and updates program flyer notifications in elevator lobbies, elevators and on the 1stfloor glass board and resident floor bulletin boards.
  • Assistswith organizing andmaintainingthe Outlook calendar of Programs events.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to coordinate andfacilitatescheduled events.
  • Develops andmaintainsa positive rapport with residents and encourages residents to develop leisure activities.
  • Assists Programs Manager in designing, developing and distribution of the Programs and Wellness calendar and the Action Line monthly newsletter.
  • Collects and compiles attendance and participation records.
  • Sets up and trouble shoots AV equipment as necessary for events.
  • Works with the Programs Manager to coordinate Memorial Services.
  • Provides “back-up” for all Programs Department duties.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
