Job summary

Proctors Collaborative, the Capital District's leading regional arts organization, seeks a Programming Manager to strategize, develop, book, and manage diverse programming across Proctors venues. This full-time, benefits-eligible role collaborates with the VP of Programming, Marketing and Communications to balance calendars and optimize revenue.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of multi-venue booking experience, strong budgeting and negotiation skills, and fluency with CRM and Tessitura.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; arts-related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience booking a multi-genre venue and nonprofit arts programming.
  • Experience with artist agreements, contracts, riders, offers, and production advances.
  • Strong budgeting, risk management, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to coordinate programming calendars and community partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Book and manage a diverse mix of programming across multiple venues.
  • Negotiate with agents, artists, promoters, and other partners.
  • Balance presented and non-presented dates on the calendar.
  • Build and manage show budgets and monitor expenses and revenue.
  • Manage contracts, production advances, settlements, and booking details.
  • Oversee event settlements and programming calendar coordination.
  • Deliver timely show information to stakeholders for on-sales and execution.
  • Attend industry meetings to research talent and market trends.
  • Stay current on entertainment pricing and market developments.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align strategies and ticket goals.
  • Participate in cross-department calendar planning and events.
  • Provide show coverage as needed.
