Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers.
  • Punctuality & reliability are essential.

Forestdale Park in Malden, MA is seeking a patient, innovative programmer who is creative, friendly, compassionate and organized to assist the Program Director in creating, scheduling and implementing programs for our residents.

Available Shifts

Part Time: Tuesday and Thursday: 5:30 PM-7:30 PM, every other Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay & Benefits

Rates start at $18 per hour

What Our Programming Assistants Do

  • Form meaningful relationships with residents and families;
  • Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily programming schedule for 7 days per week;
  • Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors;
  • Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
  • Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media

Requirements

  • Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
  • Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)
  • Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
  • Punctuality & reliability – Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities and we expect our associates to deliver on this promise.
