Job summary

Stark State College in North Canton, OH seeks a Programmer Analyst to support Banner ERP, perform systems analysis, development, and data reporting to help the College community succeed.

The role involves working with faculty, staff, and users to identify business needs, develop solutions, and ensure reliable access to data and applications. There is a remote/hybrid arrangement four days a week with one on-site day.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in IT, CS or related field.
  • 3+ years of systems design, analysis, and programming experience.
  • 3+ years of SQL, Oracle SQL*Plus, and PL/SQL experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document complex online business applications, including integrations with concurrent apps.
  • Consult with end users to identify business needs, system requirements and issues; troubleshoot and maintain test programs and databases.
  • Provide ERP and business app support, resolving end-user issues and coordinating with software vendors.
  • Develop and deliver training on new or modified applications, and maintain current system documentation.
  • Provide accurate data and reporting to meet operational needs and comply with reporting requirements.
  • Stay current with evolving technologies to improve college systems and services.

Job description

Join Stark State and play an important role in supporting the technology that helps our College community succeed. The Programmer Analyst provides systems analysis, application development, and technical support for Stark State’s Banner ERP and related information systems. Working closely with faculty, staff, and functional users, this position helps identify business needs, develop solutions, improve processes, and ensure reliable access to data and applications. This important role also contributes to technology projects, develops reports using the College’s Oracle database, and provides technical expertise that supports the College’s mission and operations.

Salary Range: $63,952 - $83,138, this is a 245 day, exempt, annual contract role.

Location of Work: This position is a remote/hybrid (work from home) position four days a week, with one day a week scheduled in the North Canton, Ohio (Main Campus) office.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
  • Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and document complex online business applications from conception through implementation, including integration and interfaces with concurrent applications.
  • Consult with end users and stakeholders to identify business needs, system requirements, and application issues; troubleshoot existing applications and develop and maintain test programs and databases to support application functionality and quality assurance.
  • Provide technical support for ERP modules and business applications, analyzing and resolving end-user issues and coordinating with software vendors as needed to troubleshoot and correct system problems.
  • Develop and deliver training to college personnel on newly developed, implemented, or modified applications, and maintain current system, program, technical, and user documentation.
  • Provide accurate electronic data and reporting support to college departments to meet operational needs and comply with federal and state reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and expand technical knowledge and skills by staying current with evolving technologies, software applications, development practices, and industry standards, and apply that knowledge to improve college systems and services.
To be Considered You'll Need:
  • Associate’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in systems design, analysis, and programming, preferably in a higher education or similar environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with SQL in a relational database environment, preferably with Oracle SQL*Plus and PL/SQL.
