Job summary

Ryan Specialty National Programs is seeking an experienced and growth-oriented Program Underwriter to join our expanding Business Services & Contractors team in Atlanta, GA. This role will underwrite, manage, and grow a profitable portfolio across staffing, janitorial, alarm/security, and contractor-focused industries.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting, strong analytical and relationship-building skills, and a drive to develop broker partnerships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting Commercial Package, Property, Auto, GL, and Excess/Umbrella.
• Strong analytical, financial, and risk assessment capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage a profitable book of business.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel for broker, agency, and customer meetings.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage new and renewal business within delegated authority.
• Analyze exposures, loss experience, and risk characteristics.
• Set pricing, coverage terms, and endorsements to maintain profitability.
• Develop broker relationships and expand distribution.
• Lead program growth initiatives and mentor junior underwriters.
• Collaborate on underwriting guidelines and process improvements.
