Job summary

Banner Engineering, headquartered in MN, is hiring a Program Technician II to join the Engineering team. This role executes technical work within established processes, handles deliverables, implements product changes, and supports product releases with limited guidance.

Reporting to the Technical Program Manager, you will collaborate across departments to evaluate customer modifications, maintain documentation, and contribute to engineering quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years engineering, product support, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and implement customer modifications and standard specials.
• Create and maintain product documentation, BOMs, routings, and records with limited guidance.
• Complete product releases and resolve documentation issues.
• Identify and improve documentation accuracy and workflow.
• Investigate RMA and quality issues with Engineering support.

Position Summary

Program Technician II independently executes technical work within established processes and procedures. This role takes responsibility for assigned deliverables, implements product changes, maintains engineering documentation, and supports product release with limited guidance.

This position reports to the Technical Program Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

• Independently evaluate and implement customer specific modifications and standard specials.
• Create and maintain product documentation, BOMs, routings, and engineering records with limited guidance.
• Complete product releases and resolve standard documentation issues.
• Identify and recommend improvements to documentation accuracy and workflow.

Product Support

• Investigate RMA and quality issues, document findings, and involve Engineering as needed.
• Work with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve product issues.
• Identify and recommend practical product improvements and cost reduction opportunities.

Customer Program Support

• Manage assigned engineering support activities for customer programs.
• Complete assigned engineering deliverables with Program Management.
• Review customer requirements and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate implementation of customer specific product configurations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate work with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, Applications Engineering, and Program Management.
• Track and complete assigned deliverables supporting customer commitments and production schedules.
• Identify and elevate technical, schedule, or documentation risks outside established processes.
• Contribute recommendations related to engineering processes, documentation, and product quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2 or more years of relevant engineering, product support, or manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple assignments, deliverables, and priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.

Preferred

• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of sensors, electronics, or industrial automation.
• Experience with product documentation, BOMs, ECOs, or engineering change processes.
• Experience coordinating validation or product testing activities.
