Job summary

Banner Engineering Corp. in Plymouth, MN, is seeking an Electrical Technician to support engineers from concept to production, performing tests and documenting results for CE/UL compliance.

The role reports to the Technical Manager of the Sensors division and offers a pathway to growth within a collaborative engineering team. Required: Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent, soldering skills, familiarity with test equipment, and the ability to work independently with direction.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent.
  • Recent grad to up to 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with soldering.
  • Experience with basic hand tools.
  • Familiar with various types of test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
  • Basic PC skills, such as Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and with direction.
  • Preferred: prior engineering environment experience, CE/UL testing, Arduino/Python

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and other design and assembly documents.
  • Assembling prototypes and performing product verification and CE/UL compliance testing.
  • Assisting in conducting performance tests to resolve performance-related issues.
  • Performing verification tests for functionality and/or quality to ensure product performs to expectations.
  • Documenting test results and recording deviations or modifications from the original design.
  • Collaborating with engineers to identify and solve product performance problems.
  • Generating reports based on findings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

From product concept to production, the Electrical Technician provides technical assistance to engineers by defining and performing tests and analyzing results within our Engineering team.

This position reports to the Technical Manager of the Sensors division.

What You’ll Be Doing

Required:

  • Associate degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent

  • Familiarity with soldering

  • Basic personal computer skills, such as Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and with direction

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in an Engineering environment
  • CE/UL testing
  • Software programming using Arduino/Python
