Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges to live with dignity and independence within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Experience in disability services is preferred but not required – training is provided.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, coach, discipline, and evaluate staff and persons served.
• Verify attendance and ensure active treatment is provided.
• Ensure adequate staff and arrange temporary staff when needed.
• Assess need for adaptive equipment and refer as appropriate.
• Ensure materials are in place at start and during shifts.
• Document incidents and use crisis intervention when necessary.
• Develop staff through orientation, training, and ongoing learning.
• Work with manager to reduce turnover and improve retention.
• Conduct visits/inspections to meet contractual specs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DOL regulations.
• Model positive behavior for staff.
