Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability is seeking a Program Supervisor to oversee daily operations at Dawson Manor, Ozone Park. The role ensures health, safety, and habilitation of individuals supported, while supervising staff and maintaining compliant program records.

You will lead interdisciplinary team meetings, manage budgets, and foster a collaborative culture, coordinating with families and agency leadership to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred.
  • Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Driver's License preferred depending on location.]

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
  • Ensuring the appropriate, therapeutically documented level of supervision in the residence, day program or community to ensure and protect the health and/or safety of the people we support.
  • Providing program/floor coverage, when necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining the excellence of the programs.
  • Developing professional, empathic relationships with family members ensuring they are included in the team process.
  • Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
  • Attending regional and agency supervisor meetings or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Attending and actively participating in the planning meeting for the people we support.
  • Fostering interagency collaboration

  • Playing an active role in the hiring process; interviewing and selecting appropriate staff based on program needs

  • Fostering communication and maintaining professional relationships between relevant supports including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency
  • Overseeing all financial systems, maintaining records for the people we support and program expenditures.
  • Operating the program within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for staff and the people we support and reporting any hazardous conditions.
  • Ensuring the completion and maintenance of all paperwork and written records related to individual treatment.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents, as well as assist with the investigative process.
