You’ll lead games, crafts, STEM activities, homework help, and enrichment, build positive relationships with kids and families, and support a safe, inclusive environment while following program policies.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old (per EEC regulations).
  • Positive attitude, dependability, and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass CORI and background checks.
  • Per diem role with no minimum hours; shifts vary by needs.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Join the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester at Plumley Village, located at 16 Laurel St. in Worcester, MA and spend your afternoons helping children learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and engaging environment!

This is a fantastic opportunity for college students, aspiring teachers, education majors, youth development professionals, retirees, or anyone looking for meaningful part-time work.

This per diem (as needed) position provides flexible coverage based on operational needs. Shifts may range from occasional hours or single-day assignments to extended coverage periods of two to three weeks for vacations, leaves of absence, or other staffing needs. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, and scheduling will vary depending on department requirements.

Facility Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-6:00 PM

What You’ll Do

As a Program Staff member, you’ll help create exciting after-school experiences for children ages 5-13 by:

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Positive attitude, dependability, and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Must be at least 18 years old (per EEC regulations)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a CORI, national background check, and EEC fingerprinting requirements
Preferred (But Not Required)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with youth in schools, camps, child care programs, or community organizations
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Experience providing academic support or homework assistance
  • Familiarity with educational technology and online learning tools
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and actively engaging with children for extended periods
  • Ability to participate in recreational and indoor/outdoor activities
