Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is seeking part-time Program Staff for our Kids Club at 180 Constitution Avenue, Worcester, MA (Great Brook Valley). You will help plan and run after-school activities for children ages 5-13, building a safe, engaging environment.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM. This role is ideal for students, educators, or retirees seeking meaningful part-time work and the chance to make a positive impact in the community.

Qualifications

  • Must have positive attitude, dependability and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Must be at least 18 years old (per EEC regulations) and able to pass CORI and background checks.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree; CPR/First Aid certifications; bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Experience with youth in schools, camps, or community programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with games, sports, arts & crafts, STEM projects, homework help, and enrichment activities.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment and support programming.
  • Assist with light cleaning and general program support.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-6:00 PM
Position Type: Part-Time, Year-Round
Location: 180 Constitution Avenue, Worcester, MA (Great Brook Valley)

It's an exciting time at our Great Brook Valley Kids Club! We are in the midst of a capital campaign to rebuild the club to include a two story building with a pool and the ability to serve over 500 kids a day!

What You'll Do

As a Program Staff member, you'll help create exciting after-school experiences for children ages 5-13 by:

  • Leading and assisting with games, sports, arts & crafts, STEM projects, homework help, and enrichment activities
  • Building positive relationships with children and families
  • Encouraging participation, teamwork, and personal growth
  • Helping create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment
  • li>Supporting educational and recreational programming
  • Following EEC regulations and organizational policies
  • Assisting with light cleaning and general program support

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required
  • Positive attitude, dependability, and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Must be at least 18 years old (per EEC regulations)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a CORI, national background check, and EEC fingerprinting requirements
Preferred (But Not Required)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with youth in schools, camps, child care programs, or community organizations
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Experience providing academic support or homework assistance
  • Familiarity with educational technology and online learning tools
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and actively engaging with children for extended periods
  • Ability to participate in recreational and indoor/outdoor activities
