Job summary

ViaQuest Day & Employment Services is seeking a full-time care worker for our Day Program in Akron, OH. The role involves direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting independence and safety, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid OH driver's license.
• Motor Vehicle Record must meet requirements including: No OVI/DUI's, reckless operations, or speeding >20 mph over limit.
• No more than 2 moving violations in last 2 years or more than 5 points.
• Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
• 1 year of IDD experience required, 3–5 years preferred.

At ViaQuest Day & Employment Services we provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities within our Day Program.

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
• Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
• Transporting the individuals between their homes and the Day Program through the use of a company, passenger van.
• Participating in community outings through the transportation and assistance of the individuals served.

Requirements for this position include:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GEDrequired.
• Valid OH driver's license.
• Motor Vehicle Record must specific requirements including (but not limited to):
