Job summary

Florida International University in Miami is seeking an Exams Administrator to supervise and administer in person and remote exams at the Center for Testing and Career Certification. You will ensure a safe, secure test environment and follow state laws, policies, and guidelines.

Responsibilities include monitoring examinees, coordinating ADA accommodations, operating testing equipment, processing requests, managing appointment systems, and safeguarding testing materials.

Job Summary

Administers and supervises in person and remote exams facilitated by the Center for Testing and Career Certification.

  • Prepares and maintains a safe, secure and comfortable test environment before, during and after daily scheduled tests.
  • Follows state law, internal policies, vendor guidelines, and national standards related to security procedures and testing administration.
  • Administers and proctors in-person and/or remote group and individual test sessions to support student achievement through college placement, program admission/exit, industry certification, developmental education, career assessment, distance learning, and other areas assigned.
  • Actively monitors examinees through direct observation, surveillance equipment, and computer software.
  • Administers appropriate American with Disabilities (ADA) compliant test accommodations as needed.
  • Operates and monitors testing equipment including computer hardware and software, printers, and surveillance equipment.
  • Processes testing requests and monitors online appointment systems. Reviews testing guidelines, policies, and instructions with examinees.
  • Serves as the merchant account's primary contact or technical contact; handles sensitive cardholder information and/or processes credit card transactions for the department/unit; will have access to a third-party system (software, gateway, etc.) that processes, transmits, and/or stores cardholder information.
  • Serves as the Procard Approver for departmental transactions. Ensures compliance and adherence to University credit card policies and procedures. Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures. Handles cash/gift card transactions on a daily basis.
  • Maintains security and distribution of testing materials and supplies (e.g. LCD boards, pencils, and calculators).
  • Utilizes basic social media skills and AI tools used for content creation, engagement, analytics, branding, and hashtag use.
  • Reports all testing irregularities to the Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of office or related experience coordinating functions of an office or department.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience administering in person and/or remote exams.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing protocols is preferred.
