Job summary

Lake Elsinore Unified School District is seeking a Program Specialist to develop, coordinate, and supervise programs for general and special education students. You will provide consultative and advisory services to teachers, parents, administrators, and staff, and oversee district-wide prevention/intervention efforts.

The role requires CA Administrative Services Credential eligibility, a Bachelor's and Master's degree (Doctorate desirable), and at least three years of teaching experience;

Qualifications

  • Eligible to apply for or hold a CA Administrative Services Credential and appropriate teaching and/or certificated credentials.
  • Education required: Bachelor's and Master's Degree; Doctorate desirable.
  • Experience: minimum 3 years successful teaching; experience with district databases preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and supervise programs for general and special education students.
  • Provide consultative, support and advisory services to teachers, parents, administrators, and staff.
  • Oversee prevention/intervention programs district-wide for students with and without disabilities.
  • Coordinate Section 504 district-wide implementation and data systems integration.
  • Assist with expulsion proceedings and budget/policy development for program areas.
  • Provide leadership across district levels and evaluate certificated/classified staff in program areas.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, this position has the responsibility to develop, coordinate, and assist in supervising programs for general/special education students; provide consultative, support and advisory services to teachers, parents, administrators, and staff; oversee the development and implementation of prevention/intervention programs for students with and without disabilities; coordinate Section 504 District-wide; oversee special education and student information system database integration to ensure data are secure, accessible, accurate, and reliable for the District; assist with the facilitation of expulsion proceedings; assist in the development and implementation of district policies and budgets relating to the district program responsibilities; provide leadership in articulating and coordinating the programs through the various district organizational levels; assist district/site level administration in the evaluation of certificated and classified personnel staff within specified program areas
