Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, materials management, or operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP II systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage material requirements to support production and program schedules.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve material shortages and supply chain constraints.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, Engineering and Operations to ensure material availability.
  • Communicate material status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support inventory management activities and data integrity within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track material performance metrics and provide status updates to management.
  • Participate in program reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  • Escalate issues and drive accountability and follow-through.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for schedule adherence and efficiency.
  • Assist in development of new processes and updating procedures.

This role serves as a key liaison between EB Program Offices, Ships Management, Operations, Contracts, Planning Departments, Finance, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off‑Site Departments to ensure material availability, resolve shortages, and communicate risks that may impact schedule performance.

Position Summary

The Materials Management Program Representative supports supply chain activities associated with all active classes of US submarines to support production, testing and program execution. This role serves as a key liaison between EB Program Offices, Ships Management, Operations, Contracts, Planning Departments, Finance, Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning Yard, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off‑Site Departments to ensure material availability, resolve shortages, and communicate risks that may impact schedule performance.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently, prioritize competing demands, and proactively drive issues to resolution.

  • This position is on site in our Groton, CT facility.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage material requirements to support production and program schedules.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve material shortages and supply chain constraints.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, Engineering, Operations, and Key stakeholders to ensure timely material availability.
  • Communicate material status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support inventory management activities and maintain data accuracy within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track critical material performance metrics and provide status updates to management.
  • Participate in program reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while driving accountability and follow-through.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule adherence and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in the development of new processes/projects and updating procedures accordingly.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, materials management, project management, manufacturing, or operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material planning processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP/MRP II systems.
Preferred
  • 3+ years equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or defense-related programs.
  • ARTEMIS, Construction/Design, MRP II, EWP/PCM, ORACLE or TEAMCENTER experience.
