Job summary

Lockheed Martin's Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) program in Dallas, Texas seeks a Quality Engineer to lead quality activities across hardware, software, and suppliers, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance throughout the life cycle.

You will execute quality planning, perform root-cause analysis, support supplier quality, participate in design and readiness reviews, and maintain documentation per MIL-STD-1520 and AS9100. US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related STEM field.
  • 2 years of professional experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a closely-related discipline.
  • Experience applying AS9100, MIL-STD-1520, MIL-STD-1629, and DFARS quality requirements; ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience conducting First-Article Inspections to AS9102 and generating NCRs, CAPA, FMEAs, and control plans in an electronic QMS.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality processes and coordinate cross-functional teams in a hybrid on-site/remote environment.
  • Execute and document quality planning activities (QP, FMEA, PFMEA, DRE, control plans) for PrSM subsystems.
  • Perform root-cause investigations on non-conformances and develop corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Support Supplier Quality Management: audit suppliers and monitor performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test and reliability engineers to improve design for reliability and manufacturability.
  • Maintain configuration management and quality records per MIL-STD-1520 and AS9100; participate in design, readiness and production reviews.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing quality processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and supporting hybrid on‑site/remote operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute and document quality planning activities (e.g., QP, FMEA, PFMEA, DRE, control plans) for PrSM subsystems and assemblies.
  • Perform root‑cause investigations on non‑conformances, failures, and test anomalies; develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support Supplier Quality Management: audit suppliers, review supplier quality documentation, and monitor supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, test, reliability engineers, program management to drive design for reliability and design for manufacturability improvements.
  • Maintain and update configuration management and quality records in accordance with MIL‑STD‑1520, AS9100, and program‑specific procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, and production readiness reviews, providing quality input and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and present quality status reports, trend analyses, and metrics to program leadership.

Basic Qualifications
  • U.S.citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related STEM field
  • 2years of professional experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a closely‑related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience applying AS9100, MIL‑STD‑1520, MIL‑STD‑1629, and DFARS quality requirements, interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T, and performing mechanical/electrical inspections
  • Proven ability to develop inspection plans, conduct First‑Article Inspections to AS9102, and generate NCRs, CAPA, FMEAs, and control plans using an electronic QMS (e.g., PTC Integrity, Teamcenter)
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% and work on‑site in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and using required Personal Protective Equipment
Desired Skills
  • Working knowledge of MFCApriso and P2P business systems
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and reliability tools (e.g., RCM, RAMS)
  • Experience with casting and additive‑manufacturing tooling
  • Understanding of reliability prediction methods, life‑data analysis, and accelerated life testing
  • Experience conducting supplier audits, assessing supplier processes, and driving supplier corrective actions (provides deeper audit expertise beyond basic corrective‑action work)
  • Strong problem‑solving ability: prioritize multiple issues and drive timely resolution under pressure
  • Proven team‑collaboration skills: influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel functions, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PLM/QLM tools; basic scripting (e.g., VBA) for data manipulation
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher) or other continuous‑improvement methodologies
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00
