Job summary

ARES is supporting NASA in launching the Artemis mission. As the PP&C Manager you will work within the KLXS Program Office, executing the duties of the KLXS contract and managing activities of the PP&C organization.

This role requires leadership, teamwork, organization, planning, execution, and strong employee management, and customer satisfaction. Onsite at KSC, five days a week, 8-5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required and experience with project life cycle.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with line management experience.
• Experience with facilitation and Six Sigma green or black belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support PMO with program management activities, leadership, and strategy.
• Lead and direct PP&C team including configuration management, IT/software, scheduling, risk management.
• Manage ~40 PP&C employees and subcontractors and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure performance and process improvement within PP&C and provide technical support to NASA.

ARES is supporting NASA in launching the Artemis mission to send astronauts back to the Moon and Mars. One of our roles is providing program, planning, & control (PP&C) functions for NASA's Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) as SLS and Orion are built, integrated, tested, and launched. It is an exciting mission supported by an awesome team working side by side with their NASA customers. As the PP&C Manager you will work within the KLXS Program Office, executing the duties of the KLXS contract and managing activities of the PP&C organization. This role requires excellent skills in leadership, teamwork, organization, planning, execution, employee management, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree.
• Experience of working with project managers and engineers throughout the project life cycle.
• Possess a strong understanding of the PP&C disciplines, with relevant experience at NASA.
• Have strong leadership and organizational skills, with a minimum of 5 years previous proven line management experience.
• Experience in facilitation techniques, preferably with a Six Sigma green or black belt certification.
• Able to work five days a week (M-F, 8-5) onsite at KSC.

Responsibilities (typical):

• Support the PMO and PM with program management activities, process development, leadership, and strategy.
• Lead, plan, and direct a team of professionals working in PP&C functions including, but not limited to, configuration management, board support, IT/software development, strategic communications, scheduling, export control, and risk management.
• Manage approximately 40 PP&C employees and subcontractors and develop and mentor junior employees, to facilitate their future growth. You'll create personal development plans for individuals in your team, and recruit internally and externally when necessary.
• Ensure performance, compliance, and sustained process improvement initiatives within the PP&C organization.
• Provide technical support and advice to customers and internal stakeholders, including NASA EGS Leadership.
