Job summary

The Winston-Salem Foundation is seeking a program officer focused on Building an Inclusive Economy. The role centers on increasing access to transportation and engagement with Forsyth County partners to advance equity goals.

The position requires strategic analysis, strong communication, and deep commitment to racial equity. Expect regular community presence, collaboration with staff, and leadership in grants-related work.

Qualifications

• Commitment to racial equity and inclusion in Forsyth County.
• Residence in Forsyth County preferred; strong local ties valued.
• 3+ years of paid work experience in nonprofit/public settings ideal.
• Ability to see the big picture while executing day-to-day tasks.
• Clear across-constituency communication, both verbal and written.
• Adept at navigating power dynamics and systemic challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain strategic external partnerships to further Building an Inclusive Economy.
• Engage with community members and organizations to learn from their work.
• Stay informed on local issues, events, and public policy affecting the community.
• Communicate effectively to develop solutions to complex problems.
• Identify opportunities to advance the Foundation’s work and impact.
• Represent the Foundation on community committees and at meetings with grantees.
