Job summary

BCYF, Inc. is seeking a strategic, community-centered Program Officer – Grants & Grantee TA to advance participatory grantmaking. You will lead site visits, conduct meetings with grantees, provide technical assistance, and act as the primary contact for grantees within the organization.

You will review, track, and evaluate the grantmaking portfolio, assess outcomes, and report on overall effectiveness. Travel for site visits and conferences is required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of significant experience in youth development, philanthropy, and social justice.
  • Experience leading initiatives and working in collaborative organizations and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience providing technical assistance, facilitating meetings, and strong research/writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to fix errors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site visits and meetings with grantees and organizations.
  • Provide technical assistance and serve as primary contact for grantees.
  • Review, track, and evaluate BCYF's grantmaking portfolio.
  • Assess and report on overall grant outcomes and portfolio effectiveness.
  • Ensure grantee data is captured in BCYF's grantmaking system and communicated to staff and trustees.
  • Prepare analytic reports to inform current and future grantmaking.

Job description

BCYF, Inc. is searching for a strategic, community-centered, and results-oriented Program Officer – Grants & Grantee TA to continue to build and implement BCYF’s participatory grantmaking. Lead site visits, meetings with grantees and organizations, grant provide technical assistance (TA), and serve as grantee partners’ primary point of contact within the organization. The PO will review, track, and evaluate BCYF, Inc.’s grantmaking portfolio, assess and report on the overall effectiveness of grants as they relate to the portfolio as a whole. Ensure grantee outcomes and data related to portfolios are captured in BCYF, Inc.’s grantmaking system and communicated when appropriate to staff and trustees. Reporting to the Director of Grantmaking-Portfolio, the PO will manage a portfolio of grants, conduct research, and prepare analytic reports to inform current and future grantmaking.

Requirements
  • Three to five years of significant experience in youth development, philanthropy, and social justice.
  • Track record of successfully leading and developing initiatives and comfort within highly collaborative organizations and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with providing technical assistance, facilitating meetings, and strong research and writing skills suitable for varied audiences.
  • Attention to detail, the ability to scope out errors, and the willingness to fix mistakes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at once.
  • Flexible, patient, and able to stay gracious under pressure.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
