Old Colony YMCA in Hyannis, MA, is seeking a Monitor at the OCC Community Justice Support Center. The role monitors participants, maintains a safe and secure environment, and ensures proper entry and exit while reflecting the center's values.

You will collect urine drug screens, document incidents, provide transportation when needed, attend trainings, and support crisis interventions. Associates degree preferred; 2 years CJ experience; evening/weekend availability; valid driver’s license; MS

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in the criminal justice field.
  • Must be able to work one evening per week and some weekends; cover additional shifts as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have visual and auditory acuity to maintain security of the center.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk during the work day.
  • Must submit and pass drug testing upon hire.
  • Computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).

  • Maintain accurate communication log entries.

  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
  • Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling participants.
  • Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by supervisor(s).
  • Attend all assigned meetings.
  • Actively participate in the Y's Annual Campaign.

TITLE: Monitor, OCC Community Justice Support Center CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Monitor is responsible and accountable for monitoring Center participants and for maintaining a safe and secure environment. S/he will ensure that participants enter and exit the Center in an appropriate manner and remain in assigned areas. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and collecting urine drug screens from participants. The Monitor will reflect and display the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Job Function:

Program/Department Responsibility:

  • Supervise and monitor participants in all phases of daily routines including break periods.
  • Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups.
  • Take accurate attendance of all participants.
  • Maintain accurate communication log entries.
  • Collection and documentation of urine screens.

Fiscal Responsibility: Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures such as petty cash, purchase orders, vouchers and employee expenses as requested.

Facility/Housekeeping Responsibility: Ensure the highest level of cleanliness by cleaning and/or inspecting areas of responsibility.

  • Attend all assigned meetings.
  • Actively participate in the Y's Annual Campaign.
