The salary range for this position considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. Typically, new hires are not placed at the top of the range, which is approximately $56,600 to $84,900 for Grade: Faculty 504.

Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Act as a steward for carrying out WGU’s mission and strategic vision.
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to student success through goal setting, student outcomes, and documentation. Respond promptly to emails and calls, and attend to urgent student needs.
  • Provide direct, comprehensive support, coaching, and guidance to assigned students.
  • Maintain expertise in WGU and program-specific knowledge through ongoing development.
  • Foster student learning with innovative and motivational teaching and coaching practices.
  • Respond urgently to student needs and communicate professionally and respectfully.
  • Maintain a consistent, student-friendly schedule, including outside hours to meet student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and proactively support at-risk students.
  • Utilize technology-based platforms to support student academic progress.
  • Collaborate with university professionals to promote a positive, student-centered environment.
  • Exhibit WGU Leadership Principles consistently.
  • Maintain knowledge within the assigned college.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Well organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Technologically competent: data entry, email, calendar, word processing, and database management.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities; able to present information clearly and persuasively.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s or higher degree with applicable licenses or certifications.
  • At least 3 years of experience in student support, mentoring, coaching, or instruction.
  • Experience working with diverse learner profiles.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with distance education and online learners.
  • Coaching certification (e.g., ICF ACC/PCC/MCC or similar).
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Primarily work from home within the continental US, with availability for travel as needed.
Working Conditions:

Travel up to 25% as required.

Position & Application Details

This is a full-time, regular position (40 hours/week) with eligibility for bonuses and comprehensive benefits, including health coverage, retirement plans, tuition discounts, and paid time off.
