- Pay Range: $56,600 - $84,900
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Act as a steward for WGU’s mission and strategic vision.
- Demonstrate a high level of commitment to student success through goal setting, outcomes, and documentation, including timely responses to emails and calls, and attention to urgent needs.
- Provide direct, comprehensive support, coaching, and guidance to assigned students.
- Maintain expertise within the program and pursue ongoing development activities.
- Foster student learning with innovative and motivational practices.
- Respond urgently to student needs and communicate professionally and respectfully.
- Maintain a student-friendly schedule, including outside hours to accommodate various needs.
- Monitor student progress and proactively support those needing assistance.
- Utilize technology platforms to support student academic progress.
- Collaborate with university professionals to promote a positive, student-focused environment.
- Exhibit WGU Leadership Principles consistently.
- Maintain knowledge within the assigned college.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Well organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
- Technologically competent: data entry, email, calendar, word processing, database programs.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with a friendly, persuasive style.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:- Master’s or higher degree with applicable licenses or certifications.
- At least 3 years of experience in student support, mentoring, coaching, or instruction.
- Ability to work with diverse learner profiles.
- Availability to work a student-friendly schedule including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with distance education students is preferred.
- Coaching certification (e.g., ICF ACC/PCC/MCC or similar).
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
- Lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Primarily working from home within the continental U.S. and available to travel as needed.
Working Conditions:
Travel up to 25% as required.
