Position Summary
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by Catholic Social Teachings by providing supportive housing services at Shalom House Men’s Transitional Living Program. The Program Manager will provide supervision and oversight of Transitional Living Support Staff and facility, offering effective leadership for managed teams, including training, scheduling staff, service coordination, and professional development.

Essential Functions
- Provide feedback and consultation to managed teams regarding services, coordination of services, assessments, goal setting, and engagement of client.
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the program(s), including assessments, intakes, and crisis management.
- Admit new clients by reviewing records and applications; conduct orientations.
- Determine clients’ requirements by completing intake interviews; assess need for therapeutic medical, psychosocial, psychiatric evaluations, and physical health; review evaluations, treatment objectives, and plans.
- Establish treatment programs by setting schedules and routines; coordinate services provided; arrange resources, including transportation and escort.
- Provide support with scheduling, organization and briefing of staff, ensuring all shifts are fully staffed.
- Help Director with recruitment and selection for new staff.
- Provide supervision and training to program staff.
- Be responsible for the delivery of client services, assisting clients to achieve self-sufficiency and secure appropriate services.
- Help prepare monthly, quarterly, annual program reports as required by the agency and funding sources.
- Participate as part of the management team in developing new staff and supporting current staff to continue to meet the goals of the program(s).
- Assist the management team in developing and managing long-term program and agency goals.
- Adhere to all agency and program policies, contracts, and budgets.
- Work full-time (5 days). The schedule must include Saturday & Sunday, plus 3 days Monday — Friday; final schedule will be decided during the interview process.
Minimum Position Requirements
- Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities.
- Must be willing to perform by the agency’s values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control and joy.
- Understand that employees of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas are visible representatives of the Archdiocesan Church and must not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic Faith or advocate for positions in conflict with Catholic teaching.
- Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in management and/or team lead in social services.
- A minimum of 1 year of case management experience.
- Experience with homeless populations and local social service agencies.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment that is very diverse.
- Ability to work in collaborations with a team; conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate excellent judgement during high pressure/crisis situations.
- Ability to prioritize and be flexible in an ever-changing environment with a positive attitude.
- Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s license, dependable transportation, current vehicle insurance, and a verified safe driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases.
- Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving.
