Job summary

Life’s WORC in New York seeks a residential supervisor to provide protective oversight for residents, train staff, and coordinate daily living activities in a 40-hour week schedule (Sun-Sat). The role includes on-site work in Rosedale, NY with opportunities for advancement and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Human Service preferred.
• Two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Six months supervisory experience required; one year preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must pass pre-employment road test and drive agency vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to people living in the residence.
• 24/7 On-Call Accessibility.
• Schedule, train residential staff, supervise, personnel issues and other tasks.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Participate in staff selection and evaluation.
• Complete staff performance evaluations.
• Participate in IDT or Life Plan meetings and OPWDD surveys.
• Complete AMAP course and annual recertification.
• Ability to lift and move items as needed.
• Drive agency vehicles and maintain safe driving practices.
• Maintain NYS Vehicle Inspection and routine maintenance.
• Conduct road tests with applicants per procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment including weekly walk-throughs.
• Ensure adherence to agency quality standards; support Director decisions.
• Become skilled with agency software (Medisked, Outlook, UltiPro).
• Assist people supported in planning community activities.

There are behavioral issues so it is preferred that staff have experience with behavioral/psych issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Provide ongoing protective oversight to people living in the residence

• Responsible for scheduling, training of residential staff, supervising, personnel related issues and other tasks
• Provide assistance and instruction for each person in basic activities of daily living
• Participate in the selection and evaluation of staff
• Complete staff performance evaluations
• Participate as required at all IDT or Life Plan meetings and OPWDD surveys
• Successfully complete the AMAP course and annual recertification
• Ability to lift: general lifting is required (ie: laundry, groceries etc.)
• Drive agency vehicles; demonstrate safe driving practices; participate in agency driver safety course
• Responsible for NYS Vehicle Inspection and all routine maintenance of agency vehicles
• Conduct road tests with prospective and current employees on agency’s vehicle in accordance with Life’s WORC road test procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment including a weekly walk-throughs
• Ensure for adherence to agency quality standards of operation; make decisions in conjunction with the Director of Residential Services that drive operational processes
• Become skilled with agency software (ie: Medisked, Outlook, Ultipro etc.)
• Assist people supported in planning, coordinating and attending community integration/inclusion activities within their homes and community
