Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences is seeking a Research Initiatives Administrator in the Deans Office to administer and evaluate a portfolio of ongoing research programs and strategic initiatives under the Vice Dean of Research. You will monitor program effectiveness, coordinate stakeholders, and support governance activities.

The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making and cross-department collaboration to advance SOM

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
• Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
• Strong organizational, project management, and analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.
• Proficiency in organizing and reporting data with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Administers and evaluates a portfolio of ongoing research programs and strategic initiatives under the purview of the Vice Dean of Research in the School of Medicine Dean's Office.
• Monitors program effectiveness, coordinates internal and external research stakeholders, and supports governance activities.
• Evaluates outcomes, recommends solutions, and implements improvements in partnership with the SOM Vice Dean of Research.
• Oversees operational activities for small to mid-sized academic or research programs.
• Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums.
• Establishes program objectives, agenda, communication strategies, data collection, analysis and dissemination, and funding and reporting requirements.
