JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing specialized administrative support, regulatory compliance review and management of the IRB in the Harris Health System. This position will assist the Administrative Director, Research & Sponsored Programs, to ensure appropriate compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and guidelines and manage the operations of the IRB. The Program Manager-IRB position will support the IRB Chairperson and other IRB members by providing professional analytical and technical assistance while interacting closely with researchers. This position possesses the regulatory and policy knowledge for the operation of the IRB. This position responsibilities include managing the daily work of the IRB, ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence, and efficiency while assisting leadership in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1.Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:Bachelors degree in business administration, scientific discipline/life sciences or relevant field (Master's Degree Preferred), Certified IRB Professional (CIP) - Required (or within two years of hire).
  • 2.Work Experience (Years and Area):Five (5) Years Relevant Work Experience of Direct IRB experience or related to human subjects' protection administration (research compliance, research administration, or research operations)
  • 3.Management Experience (Years and Area): Two (2) years of experience preferred
  • 4.Equipment Operated:Computer literacy, database, and word processing skills required.

Knowledge of research procedures and terminology, medical terminology, clinical trials, and research data management. Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory information and principles of human subject's research protections.
