Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Program Manager in Bellevue, WA to lead analysis and execution around volume allocations to transportation partners. You will own KPI reporting, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive cost and speed improvements across NA Fulfillment Centers.

Responsibilities include end-to-end program delivery, stakeholder coordination, and post-launch support to optimize the transportation network for customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience.
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience.
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and SQL.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new and existing programs, delivering complex projects across multiple organizations.
  • Work with external providers, customers, and partner teams to craft scalable solutions.
  • Coordinate with program managers to secure resources, set priorities and milestones, and drive delivery.

The North American Transportation team at Amazon is comprised of high‑powered dynamic teams which are shaping network execution through the development and application of innovative transportation and delivery management concepts. The Transportation Execution team within North American Transportation is looking for a Program Manager to lead analysis and execution around volume allocations to all transportation partners. As a Program Manager, this role will be responsible for deep diving transportation cost drivers, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to action specific drivers while maintaining or improving customer experience and transportation cost by driving the proper volume allocations to our carriers leading to the most optimized mix. This position will lead programs from the idea inception to implementation, and manage multiple, competing projects, and effectively prioritize them.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage new and existing programs, successfully delivering difficult projects and goals across multiple organizations
  • Work directly with external providers, customers, and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions
  • Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones and drive delivery
  • Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., path to green), escalating as appropriate
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions
  • Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers
  • Manage post‑launch support plans (e.g., post‑mortem, issue/ticket management, etc.) and look for opportunities to improve program quality and operational excellence
A day in the life
  • Understand the North America (NA) Transportation network, act as a subject matter expert for driving changes to the volume mix across all of North America Fulfillment Centers (NAFC)
  • Work with Long‑Term and Mid‑Term Planning teams to set volume plans by carrier for future time frames to ensure accuracy and validity of plans while managing for key metrics such as Cost, DEA and Speed
  • Identify, analyze, and maintain key metrics, with trend and variance analyses to discern root cause of defects
  • Collaborate with other Program/Product Managers and Analysts to continuously improve operations ability to support volume allocations change and carrier commitment requirement changes
  • Partner with Carriers (AMZL, Amazon Air, Third Party), Carrier Managers, Finance, Technology teams and ensure network design manages Speed, DEA and Cost effectively and can properly maintain volume allocation targets
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
