Job description

Description

Join the Transportation Engineering Systems (TESS) team where you'll directly influence how Amazon's transportation network operates at scale. As a Program Manager on the Transportation Engineering Systems (TESS) team, you will learn how Amazon's proprietary transportation systems make decisions to move packages from the fulfillment network to customers. You will manage system configuration changes that control those systems, working directly with business leaders and program teams to create new transportation flows and design configurations that execute at scale. In this role, you will execute network design changes, dive deep into package flows, troubleshoot system errors, identify process improvements, and build automation, analytics, and reporting capabilities leveraging AI. You will lead stakeholder meetings, manage projects, and contribute to doc writings for the team.

A day in the life

Your daily execution responsibilities will come via an intake queue which generates work tickets assigned to you. There could be a variety of audit and reporting duties as well. Throughout the day, you'll attend or facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams-from operations managers to software engineers-ensuring alignment on priorities and removing roadblocks. You'll work autonomously to solve ambiguous problems, whether that's defining requirements for a new system feature or analyzing why a particular network configuration isn't performing as expected. Your work directly influences decisions about how Amazon moves packages from fulfillment centers to customers' doorsteps.
