Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Program Manager I to provide administrative, operational and programmatic oversight of a continuing program. The role requires knowledge of institutional policies and the ability to develop program policies and budgets.

The position emphasizes managing staff, coordinating cross‑department activities, and contributing to grant proposals. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with 3+ years in program administration and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing and administering program activities; 5 years preferred.
• Experience with budgeting and grants and developing program proposals.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages subordinates and consultants; provides leadership to staff to meet performance goals.
• Develops and independently implements new or revised program goals, strategies and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services.
• Develops and schedules a program work plan; oversees daily operations and coordinates program activities through assigned staff; prioritizes and delegates work.
• Maintains liaison with staff in other departments to coordinate program activities and training; to accomplish program objectives; and to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
• Administers program procedures and systems; disseminates information to staff regarding policies and procedures.
• Advises staff to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, and policy interpretations; refers to others when unable to respond.
• Active role in developing program budgets and grants; may monitor, verify and oversee expenditures reconciliation.
• Hires program staff and handles performance evaluations and other personnel transactions.
• Collaborates with leadership to prepare proposals for corporate and foundation funding and/or external donors.
• Performs needs assessments and analyzes participant and community needs for program development.
• Performs other related duties.
