About the team and position

We're seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety professional to join our EHS team. The EHS Program Manager will support our mission by developing and managing health, safety, and environmental compliance programs, guiding corrective actions at site levels, and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives. This role involves collecting, reviewing, and reporting environmental and safety data to stakeholders. The position is on-site and will be assigned based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and manage information systems for EHS recordkeeping and compliance.
  2. Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental permits and regulations across regions or sites.
  3. Prepare and submit permit renewals.
  4. Support wastewater treatment operations and work towards obtaining a Class 2 Operator license.
  5. Monitor EHS programs to track compliance and effectiveness.
  6. Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  7. Inspect storage tanks, chemical storage, and waste areas for compliance.
  8. Educate internal stakeholders on hazardous materials management and disposal.
  9. Participate in Safety Action Teams across locations.
  10. Review management tools to facilitate compliance.
  11. Interface with regulators during inspections.
  12. Assist leadership in responding to inspection findings and implementing corrective actions.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned.
  14. Driving may be required at some locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant EHS experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Grade 3 wastewater operator's license.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations (OSHA, DOT, RCRA, CWA, CAA, SPCC).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Integrity and strong character.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Environmental and safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, CSP, CHMP, CSHM).
  • Familiarity with federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
