Job summary

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Program Manager to lead delivery of the AFCOOL Purchasing Agent contract in support of the Air University AFCOOL Credentialing Program Office at Maxwell Air Force Base. You will oversee a team of Purchasing Agents, manage contract performance, staffing, budgets, and deliverables while interfacing with the COR and AFCOOL leadership.

The role demands strong financial stewardship, disciplined process management, and the ability to safeguard PII/CUI in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years leading teams and managing budgets, purchasing, or invoicing.
• Experience with AFAEMS and AIPortal or comparable systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with report/documentation experience.
• Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 1 background check and CAC; base access required; security clearance not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main point of contact for CO, COR, and AFCOOL Program Office; brief program status.
• Ensure exam and course purchases are paid within three duty days of approval with cost accuracy and 1% error rate or less; receipts recorded in system.
• Oversee monthly invoicing and financial reporting (WAWF submissions, bank statements) and identify cost savings toward 5% reduction goal.
• Deliver weekly, monthly, and grade status reports, Quality Control Plan, and annual SOP reviews on time and accurately.
• Maintain strong customer service for Airmen, Guardians, and vendors; resolve payment issues and complaints.
• Ensure team protects PII/CUI, completes required security training, and follows CAC/base access/OPSEC requirements.
• Travel up to four times a year for roadshows and base visits.
