Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft and radar systems.

This role leads the development of new technologies in collaboration with government science labs such as AFRL, NRL, and DARPA, and oversees cross-functional teams to plan, propose, and execute technology development efforts that meet cost, schedule and performance objectives. The candidate will manage programs from conception to completion, act as the primary customer contact,

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to develop solutions requiring cross-technology coordination across program requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership and presentation skills for interface with all management levels and stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused, able to work independently and in teams, willing to travel and work extended hours.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of the program from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning and technical performance management.
  • Act as primary customer contact and lead program reviews on cost, schedule and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts.
  • Interact with stakeholders to resolve technical and scheduling issues and serve as primary contact for program matters.
  • Support development of proposals, budgets, and contract terms/conditions and participate in negotiations.
  • Ensure technical leadership through talent development and workforce planning.
  • Identify issues and propose solutions, including resource reallocation or contract changes.
  • Contribute to new business opportunities and expansion of existing ones.
  • Oversee development and security of proprietary technology and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
