UTMB Health in Galveston, TX is seeking a Program Manager responsible for personnel, operational and financial management of assigned program(s) to ensure delivery of competent, compassionate clinical care and advancement of research and clinical education.

You will supervise activities, coordinate with campus departments, and identify funding sources while ensuring contracts compliance and cost-effective services. Advanced degree and grant writing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 5 years of program management experience.
  • Advanced degree in basic science and aging biology experience preferred.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.

Job Description:

The Program Manager is accountable for the personnel, operational and financial management of assigned program(s) to ensure the delivery of competent, compassionate and efficient clinical care, promotion of research and clinical education.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees and supervises all business and administrative activities relating to program operations and budget.
  • Provides leadership for the program and promotes teamwork.
  • Serves as a liaison between institutional departments and local area groups to assess need and develop project plans and budgets.
  • Leads/participates in collaborative interdepartmental approaches to develop and enhance an integrated system of care, as appropriate.
  • Coordinats all joint operations for the program with both internal and external sources. Works with other campus departments to establish collaborative programs.
  • Assists in identifying potential funding sources for the program, and prepares/monitors budgets to ensure services are provided in a cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluates services to maintain compliance with contracts.
  • Reviews existing contracts for renewal.
  • Recommends hiring and termination of all supervised employees.
  • Facilitates development of goals, performance standards, and objectives of the program.
  • Works with other campus departments to establish collaborative programs.
  • Responsible for identifying and evaluating the need for new equipment, supplies, communication services, and information services for all areas of the program. Initiates implementation plans for new projects and services within the program.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • May assist in grant writing.
  • Performs related duties as required.
