Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential addiction treatment and community support program. You are required to have demonstrated experience in staff supervision, program coordination, and creating a safe, recovery-focused environment. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, especially in high-stress situations. Experience managing residential settings, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and upholding program structure is preferred. Familiarity with basic computer programs and documentation systems is also important for success in this role.

Program Manager Essential Job Tasks (ATS and CSS)

  • Assures safety and support to all residents
  • Communicates effectively and maintains professional/ethical boundaries
  • Problem solve during high stress situations
  • Maintain a physical, mental, and spiritually safe environment and workplace culture
  • Recognizes the importance of individual and cultural differences that influence behavior and thought processes
  • Be a part of a rotating on-call to support addiction service programs
  • Supervise and support Unit Coordinator, BHS staff, and residents
  • Facilitate a weekly community meeting with the residents that outlines program expectations and provides an opportunity for residents to give feedback
  • Attend to the overall operation and management of the living environment (including food and supply stock, building and technology maintenance, etc.)
  • Oversee and ensure that the program expectations are being upheld by all staff
  • Ensure that the unit is clean, organized, and safe
  • Works with leadership team and supervisor to develop and support programming
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Exhibits professional demeanor in tone of voice, appearance, and movement
  • Maintains a high standard of confidentiality and professional ethics and boundaries
  • Demonstrates serious effort to improve job performance
  • Projects a positive attitude in professional and personal interactions in the work environment
  • Uses effective verbal and writing communication skills
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (nursing, case management, providers, clinicians) demonstrating respect and curtesy
  • Maintain professional boundaries in stressful situation
  • Able to assess problems and effectively and appropriately problem solve keeping safety and recovery in mind
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of addiction and recovery and how it intersects with other areas of life
  • Hold staff accountable for program structure and related job tasks

This job operates in a clinical environment.

Physical Demands

Duties may require standing and walking, or sitting for long periods of time.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree preferred. Training and experience in inpatient health care services administration. The ideal candidate will be a clinical, "hands on" leader who enjoys developing his/her team.
  • Experience with addiction treatment and trauma focused treatment strongly preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of one year of experience working with a vulnerable population.
  • Must have at least 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in a fast paced, clinically challenging and rewarding environment.

Salary Range: $59,000 to $79,900 per year
