Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Program Manager to develop, plan and implement non-degree certificate programs offered quarterly. You will ensure course quality, meet annual financial targets, hire instructors, and collaborate with industry professionals and campus partners.

You will also maintain relationships with DCE stakeholders, coordinate room assignments, and work with Marketing to promote courses while updating curriculum through advisory committees.

Qualifications

• Skill in using business software systems (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Advanced analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Thorough knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and how work impacts other areas of public educational programs
• Advanced knowledge of accredited and/or certificate program instruction and delivery methodologies, the organization, market and business strategies
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, adjust to changing priorities, and perform well under pressure
• Ability to find creative solutions for escalated issues in high-pressure situations with impending deadlines
• Ability to create and modify workflow processes
• Excellent organizational skills and project management experience (with tools such as Wrike, Basecamp)
• Ability to collaborate well with instructors/SMEs and UCI‑DCE colleagues
• Experience working with third party vendors and contractors in the course development process
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• Continuing education in related field required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience* 7+ years of experience working in Higher Education.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and implements non-degree certificate programs and courses offered quarterly for the Planning unit
• Responsible for overall quality of course offerings and for meeting annual financial targets
• Develops advisory committees comprised of industry and academic leaders to update curriculum and course content
• Manages relationships with instructors and third-party vendors in the course development process
• Works with DCE Student Services to provide current information on certificate programs and coordinating room assignments
• Collaborates with Director and Marketing to ensure appropriate marketing for courses
• Determines course cancellations and offerings and maintains relationships with campus departments and outside vendors
