Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Administrator Architect (Non Mgrl) to support capital planning across city agencies. The role involves coordinating between technical and program teams to guide capital strategy, sustainability, and resiliency initiatives.

Requirements include NYS Architect registration, 6 years of architectural experience (2 in admin architect), and US work authorization. Residency not required for this position; 55a Program is open to qualified applicants.

Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Registration as an Architect.
  • Six years of full‑time paid architectural experience, at least two as an administrative architect.
  • Must be authorized to work full‑time in the United States.
  • Educational credentials from US Department of Education‑recognized accredited institution; foreign credentials require evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Support sponsor agencies in planning capital needs and citywide goals for public buildings.
  • Liaise between technical teams, program teams and sponsor agencies to assist with capital strategic planning.
  • Coordinate understanding of each agency’s programming and capital needs for portfolio and citywide initiatives.
  • Perform post‑occupancy evaluations and surveys, analyzing building operations, energy/water use, user satisfaction, and lessons learned.
