Job summary

Vanderbilt University invites applications for a grant-funded Program Manager to support the Advancing Research Careers UE5 at Vanderbilt (V-ARC). The role develops resources and manages initiatives helping biomedical PhD students and postdocs transition to careers in academia, industry, and government.

This term-limited position ends December 31, 2026. The role coordinates workshops, mentors networks, creates content, and communicates with trainees, faculty, and regional partners to advance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in program and project management.
  • Experience with developing educational content related to science and building/managing partnerships is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing V-ARC goals.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to create curricula and resources for PhD students and postdocs, including an online grant-writing course.
  • Offer mentoring opportunities for regional research mentors to develop skills and resources.
  • Identify Vanderbilt PhD and postdoctoral alumni to serve as mentors and speakers for programming.
  • Develop project plans with timelines and requirements for V-ARC educational programs.
  • Provide administrative support and logistics coordination for V-ARC activities.
