Job summary

Applied Aerospace & Defense (AA&D) in Stockton, CA seeks a Program Manager to oversee overall program performance, including cost, quality, and schedule. You will manage implementation and activities to meet objectives, directing engineers and technicians, and communicating with customers.

Responsibilities

• Review and approval of all direct program purchases and weekly labor reports, NCRs and shipments.
• Direct 'line' authority for Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians.
• Directs Technical issues associated with the project.
• Generates Weekly Status Reports for program team, management and customers.
• Holds weekly Program Review Meetings with staff across Engineering, Purchasing, Contracts and Operations.
• Reviews all contract changes for Cost and Schedule impacts and updates PO.
• Direct customer communications as needed, including written correspondence and reviews.
• Generate closed Program Reports explaining variances to budget and schedule.
• Bid and Proposal support, including Estimating Workbook and technical write-ups.
• Selects personnel according to knowledge and experience in area.
• Confers with staff to explain program responsibilities.
• Directs and coordinates activities with implementation and objectives of program.
• Reviews reports to ensure progress toward objectives and adjust methods as needed.
• Controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
• Ensures program history is archived.

Description

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Responsible for overall program performance, including cost, quality, and schedule. Manages program to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for all decisions relating to cost, quality, technical issues and schedules. This includes review and approval of all direct program purchases, as well as the review and management of weekly labor reports, NCR's and shipments.
• Direct "line" authority for the Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians assigned to him/her.
• Directs Technical issues associated with the project.
• Generates Weekly Status Reports for program team, management and customers.
• Holds weekly Program Review Meetings with direct reports plus Engineering, Purchasing, Contracts and Operations.
• Reviews all contract changes for Cost and Schedule impacts and ensures incorporation into the customer’s Purchase Order.
• Direct customer communications as needed, including written correspondence, teleconferences, reviews, customer visits, etc.
• Generate closed Program Reports, explaining variances to budget and schedule.
• Bid and Proposal support, including Estimating Workbook, technical write-ups, etc.
• Selects personnel according to knowledge and experience in area with which program is concerned.
• Confers with staff to explain program and individual responsibilities for functions and phases or program.
• Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate personnel, activities concerned with implementation and carrying out objectives of program.
• Reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress in accomplished toward specified program objective and modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attain objectives.
• Controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
• Ensures program history is archived (photographic, MID's, all program documentation).
