Insight Global is hiring for a venture-backed, solid-state photonics company developing high-energy laser and directed energy systems for defense applications. The Program Manager will lead end-to-end execution of High Power Microwave programs, translating breakthroughs into fieldable systems and owning cost, schedule, and reporting across multiple development efforts.

The role requires 8+ years in program management for electromagnetic or directed-energy programs, with DoD/DoE contract

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field; MS/PhD preferred.
• 8+ years PM experience delivering complex electromagnetic or directed-energy systems.
• Experience with DoD/DoW and/or DOE customers including contracts and reviews.
• Strong background in RF and microwave systems with related tech exposure.
• Proficiency with PM tools and frameworks (IMS, EVM, risks, WBS).
• Active or ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.

Insight Global is hiring for a venture-backed, solid-state photonics company developing high-energy laser and directed energy systems for defense applications. They are building a cross-functional program planning capability to support multiple concurrent product programs and their enabling technology foundation.

The Program Manager will lead the end-to-end execution of High Power Microwave programs, translating breakthrough electromagnetic technology from laboratory demonstrations into fieldable, mission-ready systems. This program manager owns cost, schedule, and communication/reporting across multiple HPM development efforts, working shoulder-to-shoulder with senior scientists and engineers to navigate complex system-level trades while keeping programs on track. The role demands someone who can speak the language of RF physics, high-voltage pulsed power, and semiconductor technology while running a disciplined program management cadence that earns the confidence of customers, leadership, and the technical team alike.

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (MS or PhD preferred)
• 8+ years of Program Management experience delivering complex electromagnetic or directed-energy systems through the development lifecycle, with demonstrated experience advancing systems from moderate TRL (lab/breadboard) to high TRL (integrated prototype, field demonstration).
• Experience managing programs with DoD/DoW and/or DOE customers (Services, DARPA, FFRDCs, etc.) including contract execution, program reviews, and deliverable management.
• Strong background in radiofrequency (RF) and microwave systems, with working knowledge of high-voltage or pulsed power technologies sufficient to engage credibly with senior RF and pulsed power engineers on design trades and integration challenges.
• Proficiency with program management tools and frameworks: integrated master schedules, earned value management, risk registers, and work breakdown structures.
• Active or ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance
