Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking a Program Manager to lead the Project Management organization for a portfolio of complex, engineered-to-order robotic packaging systems in Pennsylvania. The role focuses on delivering projects from PO through SAT, ensuring scope, safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets while maintaining top-tier customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in PM, 3+ years in leadership, and experience with PM methodologies, ERP systems, and PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of progressive project management experience within capital equipment or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
  • Three+ years of leadership experience managing project managers or equivalent delivery professionals.
  • PMP certification is preferred and experience implementing PM systems and standardized processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Management organization to deliver the customer portfolio from PO through SAT and closeout.
  • Develop and mentor Project Managers to build accountability and continuous improvement.

Program Manager Project portfolio leadership for complex, engineered-to-order robotic packaging systems

About the Company CSG Talent is partnering with a well-established US designer and manufacturer of hygienic, vision-guided robotic packaging systems for the food industry. Its custom primary and secondary packaging solutions are engineered for ease of use, rapid start-up, worker safety, and food safety. The business combines deep automation expertise with an exceptional customer-focused and employee-centered culture.

The Opportunity

The Program Manager is responsible for the leadership and performance of the Project Management organization. This role ensures the successful execution of the company's customer project portfolio from Purchase Order through Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), final customer acceptance, and project closeout. Working collaboratively across Sales, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Service, and Finance, the Program Manager develops Project Managers, establishes organizational standards, and continuously improves project execution to deliver predictable business results and an exceptional customer experience.

What You Will Lead:
  • People Leadership & Organizational Capability Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent through effective performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
  • Establish department goals, performance expectations, key performance indicators (KPIs), and standard work that drive consistent execution and continuous improvement.
  • Portfolio Execution Lead the customer project portfolio from Purchase Order through SAT, final acceptance, and closeout, ensuring commitments for scope, safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction are achieved. Balance project priorities, allocate resources, and proactively manage portfolio capacity, risks, constraints, and cross-functional dependencies. Lead project reviews, recovery planning, and the resolution of critical execution issues, serving as the management escalation point for significant customer and project concerns.
  • Cross-Functional & Financial Leadership Partner with Sales, Engineering, Materials, Manufacturing, Service, and Finance to ensure effective communication, alignment, and execution throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor schedule adherence, financial results, resource utilization, forecasting, cash flow, change management, and customer satisfaction, providing timely portfolio reporting to executive leadership.
  • Operating Systems & Continuous Improvement Develop, implement, and maintain project management methodologies, governance, policies, procedures, templates, and best practices. Champion business systems, technologies, and performance dashboards that improve project visibility, decision-making, execution, and organizational effectiveness. Lead Lessons Learned, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen execution, improve predictability, and support strategic objectives. Identify and recommend organizational, process, and resource improvements that enhance operational performance, scalability, and customer value. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the business and its customers.
What You Will Bring Experience

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive project management experience within custom capital equipment, industrial automation, or engineered-to-order manufacturing. A minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience managing Project Managers or comparable project delivery professionals. Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-million-dollar customer project portfolios. Experience implementing project management systems, performance metrics, standardized business processes, and operational improvements.

Leadership & Commercial Acumen

Strong leadership, coaching, organizational development, and change management skills. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, cash flow awareness, and resource planning. Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and build alignment at every level of an organization.

Education & Technical Foundation

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered. Working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, commissioning, and financial management. Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and project management software. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Work Environment & Travel

This position is based in Pennsylvania and includes regular time in a manufacturing-floor environment. The role requires regular standing and walking for much of the workday and the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Travel of up to 25% is expected.
