Job description

A highly visible role within a high-performance organization. This position involves direct engagement with senior leadership, customers, and suppliers. The Program Manager is fully responsible for overall project execution, communication, and success of key programs through direct collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure clearly defined and realized timelines, deliverables, risk management, and success metrics. Projects are to be executed with robust planning and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will be accountable for the assigned program team and responsible for their execution of all phases of projects, while actively driving solutions and mitigating risks.

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Operations to satisfy both internal and external customer expectations
• Oversee new program launches, including the identification and coordination of appropriate resources, determination of project scope, and management and communication of project timelines, deliverables, issues, risks, and success metrics
• Strategize and outline goals and objectives of each program
• Lead cross-functional project teams to solve problems and chair regular project meetings to track progress toward shared objectives
• Monitor profitability of projects and ensure expected targets are achieved
• Develop and monitor budgets for assigned projects, ensuring costs are planned, invoiced, and distributed appropriately
• Maintain a clear project plan with major milestones and critical paths clearly identified
• Track project progress against defined cost and timing objectives, and proactively address potential variances
• Ensure projects align with strategic initiatives by gathering appropriate information from individuals and project teams to support sound decision-making
• Complete accurate, high-quality documentation, including project schedules, status reports, and action plans
• Prepare and submit program reports for leadership and executive review
• Present program status and elevate issues as necessary to program sponsors and steering committees
• Coordinate engineering changes through the change management process, internally and with customers
• Travel to customer, supplier, and company facility locations as necessary
• Communicate with customers regarding company products, facilities, and capabilities
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your Profile

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience
• In-depth knowledge of, and experience working in, a relevant manufacturing or technical industry, with a history of increasing responsibility
• In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
• Bias to action, with a proven ability to get things done (hands-on mentality)
• Proven experience delivering effective presentations to executive management
• Structured, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work
• Independent thinker and problem-solver, comfortable working in a changing operational environment
• Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational, and communication skills
• Proven experience collaborating with internal and external customers, senior leadership, and project managers
• Sufficient technical acumen to participate in engineering discussions with internal and external parties
• Willingness to travel to customer, supplier, and company facility locations
• Strong, highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated record of building both internal and customer relationships and rapport
• Sound reasoning and decision-making ability
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively with minimal direct supervision
