Job summary

Schneider Electric in Nashville seeks a Program Manager to lead strategic industrial programs, defining objectives, plans, and execution across dispersed teams. You will coordinate with the Program Sponsor and PM team to align technical and organizational environments with program goals.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in program management, a background in manufacturing operations, and strong finance/cost awareness. Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Masters a plus).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
• Strong understanding of finance and cost accounting.
• Fluent English.
• 3+ years in program management (team member or leader) with PM fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Meet scope, schedule, resources and budget per the Program Management Plan.
• Lead the program management team to develop and manage the Plan.
• Enforce changes to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Negotiate resources with managers to staff the program.
• Resolve issues promptly and escalate as needed.
• Identify program risks and implement corrective actions to closure.
• Monitor program status and report to management regularly.

Program Manager

General Purpose of the Role

The Program Manager will lead strategic industrial Programs. The Program Manager is responsible for achieving Program objectives. S/he works closely with the Program Sponsor and Program Management Team to define the Program objectives, create Program plans, and execute the plan to achieve Program objectives.The Program Manager has a working knowledge of the technical and organizational environments in which the Program deliverables are created and in which they will be used.The Program Manager must be an excellent communicator at all levels within the Program environment, be proactive, exhibit strong leadership qualities, be able to influence and be able to adapt to a dynamic and potentially geographically disbursed Program environment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for meeting the scope, schedule, resource and budget commitments reflected in the Program Management Plan.
• Lead the Program management team in developing and managing the Program Management Plan within the constraints established and approved by the Program Sponsor.
• Implement and enforce change control over Program scope, schedule, resources and budget.
• Negotiate with functional managers and/or organizational management to obtain adequate resources with appropriate skills to staff the Program team.
• Manage the timely resolution of issues, including the escalation of issues that are outside of the Program team’s scope of responsibility.
• Continually identify and proactively manage Program risks & issues, ensure execution of corrective action plans up to closure.
• Monitor the Program and report the Program status to management on a regular basis.
