The Technical Program Manager is responsible for overseeing complex technical and engineering initiatives that support advanced technology, robotics, and manufacturing programs. This role manages project planning, execution, and performance while coordinating cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of program objectives. The Technical Program Manager plays a critical role in advancing innovative solutions by managing schedules, budgets, risks, and contractual requirements in support of organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex technical and engineering projects from initial planning through execution, completion, and verification.
- Coordinate project resources, timelines, activities, and milestones to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor project performance, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Oversee project plans, schedules, scope, quality standards, and cost objectives to ensure successful outcomes.
- Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates regarding project status, risks, financial performance, and overall progress.
- Prepare and present project reports, metrics, recommendations, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project partners, vendors, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Support compliance with contractual requirements, funding agreements, reporting obligations, and project documentation standards.
- Develop and improve project management processes, tools, templates, and best practices to improve program execution.
- Collaborate with engineering, technical, business, and operational teams to achieve program objectives.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related technical field required.
- Equivalent combination of education, technical experience, and demonstrated program management experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five years of experience managing complex technical, engineering, manufacturing, or technology-focused programs.
- Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder groups in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Special Requirements:
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI certification, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Experience supporting government-funded programs, research initiatives, or contractual projects preferred.
- Ability to work onsite periodically at a regional office location as required.
