Volunteers of America Massachusetts (VOAMASS) is seeking a Program Manager for Hello House For Women in Dorchester to oversee daily services and lead a team of Recovery Support Specialists in a trauma-informed recovery setting.

The role focuses on scheduling, staff training, and ensuring adherence to program policies while supporting residents on their recovery journey with personalized care and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of substance use disorder experience, or equivalent
• At least 2 years of multifaceted experience treating individuals coping with substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders
• A minimum of two years of management experience, preferably in residential treatment or behavioral health

Responsibilities

• Supervise Recovery Support Specialists and manage shift coverage
• Ensure a professional program atmosphere to encourage client participation
• Collaborate with Program Director and Clinical Supervisor on intake and census
• Provide support in the therapeutic milieu and groups as needed
• Oversee administrative functions: revenue, costs, supplies, and food purchasing
• Maintain safety and conduct drills and incident reports
• Track program census and support staff training needs
• Review EHR documentation and complete required clinical records

Hello House For Women is a great opportunity for candidates who are passionate about working with individuals on their path to recovery. The expanded, 28-bed space in Dorchester offers trauma-informed and integrated clinical support services for women living with substance abuse disorders.

As Program Manager, you’ll have a dynamic and critical role overseeing the day to day program services to promote sensitive and therapeutic treatment for women in recovery of substance use disorders. As Program Manager you will lead an incredible team of Recovery Support Specialists by managing the daily scheduling and training staff on policies and procedures. The Program Manager will collaborate with residents to identify their unique needs, goals, and challenges, and work with the leadership staff to ensure that each individual in the program receives personalized support throughout their recovery journey. By implementing evidence-based practices and recovery-oriented approaches, the Program Manager will empower direct care staff as they work with clients to develop life skills, establish healthy coping mechanisms, and build a supportive community.

Program Manager Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, guide and oversee Recovery Support Specialists employees and ensure all shifts are covered through thoughtful management of employee schedules.
• Ensure a professional and hospitable program atmosphere to encourage client participation in treatment.
• Work with Program Director and Clinical Supervisor to manage the intake process toward a full census and that clients are appropriate for the program level of care.
• Provide support and participate in therapeutic milieu, including groups as needed.
• Oversee core administrative functions of the program including collecting revenue, recording monthly costs, and ordering program supplies and food shopping.
• Maintain a safe work environment for clients and staff. Conduct documented fire drills, incident reports and any elevate any issues or concerns to the Program Director and/or Clinical Supervisor.
• Record, maintain and submit accurate daily/monthly program census.
• Work with Clinical Supervisor to identify needed areas of training for staff.
• Review program EHR documentation and provide support and training where needed. Complete required clinical documentation and audits of client files.
• Perform other duties as requested or required.

The Program Manager role is about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. As Program Manager, you’ll bring the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of substance abuse disorder experience, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of multifaceted experience treating individuals coping with substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders.
• A minimum of two years of management experience, preferably in a residential treatment and/or behavioral health setting.
• Ability to train and provide services through a diverse set of treatment modalities (including but not limited to: Harm reduction, Medication Assisted Treatment, and Trauma Informed Care).
• Computer proficiency in electronic health records and MS Word and Outlook is required
