Job description

Program Manager, Enterprise AI
Brooksource
Fortune 50 Health Insurance Client
Position Overview

The Program Manager will play a key role within the Enterprise AI organization, providing hands-on delivery leadership for complex AI, technology, data, platform, and business initiatives. Working alongside Enterprise AI leadership, the IT PMO, Product Management, Engineering, Data, and business stakeholders, this role is responsible for translating strategic priorities into structured execution plans and driving initiatives through successful delivery.

The ideal candidate is a strong Senior Program Manager with experience leading complex initiatives within large, matrixed organizations. This is a highly execution-oriented role requiring someone who can quickly bring structure to ambiguity, develop and manage integrated plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, resolve issues, manage dependencies, and maintain momentum through delivery. While the Program Manager will support Enterprise AI initiatives, deep AI expertise is not required. The most important qualifications are strong technology program management fundamentals, hands-on delivery leadership, structured execution, and the ability to effectively navigate complex organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of complex, cross-functional Enterprise AI initiatives, products, capabilities, and business use cases.
  • Translate strategic objectives into detailed, actionable delivery plans, milestones, timelines, and workstreams.
  • Build and maintain integrated program plans, including dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, and action items.
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Engineering, Data, Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Establish delivery cadences, working sessions, status reporting, and governance routines that keep teams aligned and accountable.
  • Drive resolution of cross-functional issues, blockers, and dependencies to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Proactively identify delivery risks and develop mitigation strategies and actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitate working sessions and decision-making across technical and business teams.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and commitments across multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure requirements, dependencies, assumptions, implementation considerations, and decisions are clearly documented and understood.
  • Drive accountability and follow-through across teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Provide clear, concise visibility into program status, risks, issues, dependencies, and upcoming milestones.
  • Support testing, implementation, operational readiness, launch, and post-launch transition activities.
  • Partner closely with the Program Delivery Lead and IT PMO to ensure effective execution of assigned Enterprise AI priorities.
  • Adapt delivery approaches as priorities evolve while maintaining structure, accountability, and focus on outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of program, project, or technology delivery management experience, ideally at a Senior Program Manager level.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within large, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology, digital, data, analytics, platform, software, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing and managing integrated program plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
  • Proven ability to drive structured execution across multiple teams and workstreams.
  • Strong issue-resolution and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify blockers and drive them to resolution.
  • Experience coordinating across business, product, engineering, data, and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex organizational environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Experience working effectively in environments with evolving priorities and ambiguity.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Enterprise AI, artificial intelligence, analytics, data, automation, digital transformation, or emerging technology initiatives.
  • Familiarity with product-centric and Agile delivery models.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles, implementation planning, testing, release management, and operational readiness.
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms, shared capabilities, or complex technology ecosystems.
  • Experience working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data, and business teams.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud, data, analytics, or AI technologies.
  • Experience within healthcare, payer, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity and delivery acceleration tools.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior Program Manager who knows how to get complex work done. They are highly organized and structured, but also comfortable operating in ambiguity. They know how to take a complex initiative with multiple teams, dependencies, and competing priorities and turn it into a clear plan with defined owners, milestones, and accountability.

This person is a strong problem solver who doesn't simply report issues — they drive issue resolution. They are comfortable getting into the details of delivery, facilitating conversations between teams, identifying dependencies, escalating appropriately, and keeping initiatives moving forward. Experience with AI is a strong plus, but excellent program delivery skills are the priority. Candidates with backgrounds in large-scale technology transformation, digital transformation, software delivery, data/platform programs, or other complex enterprise initiatives are highly relevant.

The Program Manager will work closely with the Program Delivery Lead from an IT PMO perspective, while maintaining direct delivery responsibility for assigned Enterprise AI products and initiatives. Depending on product assignments, interaction with the Lead will vary based on the complexity and needs of each initiative.
