Rite of Passage at Tampa Bay Girls Academy in Tampa, FL is seeking a Maintenance Worker to handle general building upkeep and repairs for a secure residential program serving youth. The role includes light electrical, drywall, painting, plumbing tasks, and grounds maintenance, with responsibilities for reporting and documentation.

The ideal candidate holds an HVAC or related certification, a high school diploma, a valid Florida driver’s license, and a demonstrated ability to manage time and stay

Qualifications

• Possess a High School Diploma.
• HVAC or related General Maintenance Certification is required.
• Prior building maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid state driver's license and have an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, and TB test.
• Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week and a designated schedule, with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
• Change light bulbs, minor electrical repairs, drywall repair, painting.
• Repair locks and hardware, minor plumbing repairs, unplug drains.
• Re-lighting, maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights.
• Grounds maintenance and vehicle fleet maintenance.
• Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

Tampa Bay Girls Academy (TBGA) - Secure Facility comprised of multiple co-located residential commitment programs serving high-risk and max-risk female youth aged 12-21. These programs provide services utilizing evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive care, treatment, and supervision. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling.

What you will do: As the Maintenance Worker, the position is responsible for work orders such as general building maintenance, changing light bulbs, minor electrical repairs, repairing drywall, painting, sheetrock, adjusting locks and hardware, minor plumbing repairs, unplugging drains, re-lighting, maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights, grounds maintenance, etc. Maintains the vehicle fleet. Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
