Job summary

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is seeking a Project Manager for State and Local Government to lead a five-year statewide program funded by NYSERDA. Remote in the U.S.

you will coordinate cohorts of local governments, manage relationships with NYSERDA, and ensure program milestones, budgets, and deliverables are met. You will oversee curriculum development, technical assistance, workshops, and stakeholder engagement, guiding communities toward ambitious decarbonization and clean energy goals

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and government stakeholders.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, reporting, governance and contract deliverables.
• Experience working with state or local governments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the five-year multi-cohort statewide program from recruitment through closeout.
• Serve as primary project manager and NYSERDA liaison for contract milestones and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, external partners, and government stakeholders.
• Develop cohort curriculum, technical assistance, and participant resources.
• Provide strategic guidance and coaching to participating local governments.
• Establish governance, schedules, budgets, risk logs and performance metrics.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and external communications for dissemination of best practices.
