Job summary

Quinnipiac University is seeking an Albert Schweitzer Institute Program Intern under the Federal Work Study program. The intern will work with the Faculty Director to develop and expand Institute programs, organize events, and create social media content to promote initiatives.

The role emphasizes independent project work, strong writing and organizational skills, and potential leadership experiences on campus, with opportunities to contribute to human rights and activism-focused efforts.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.
• Applicants who are leaders on campus, who have experience with non-profit or community organizations, and who demonstrate interest in human rights and activism are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong understanding and working knowledge of the Albert Schweitzer Institute, its history, mission, and current breadth of programs.
• Work closely with the Faculty Director to develop new programs and initiatives.
• Help expand and manage current Institute initiatives and programs.
• Assist in organizing Institute events.
• Attend Open Houses, class events, and other speaking opportunities with the Faculty Director.
• Develop social media content and promotions materials for programs and events.
• Depending upon the interests of the Program Intern, the student will work closely with the Faculty Director to integrate their academic or experiential knowledge with the goals of the Institute (i.e. through creation of new programs)
