Job summary

State of Rhode Island's Department of Human Services seeks a Supervising Eligibility Technician to plan, supervise, and review staff performing eligibility determinations for assistance programs. Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state law and regulations for eligibility.
• Ability to conduct information gathering interviews with applicants/recipients.
• Working knowledge of assistance programs.
• Ability to supervise technical and clerical staff.
• Ability to prepare and submit reports with statistical breakdowns.
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete forms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise and review the work of staff performing eligibility determinations.
• Conduct in-person interviews with applicants/recipients in office and field.
• Collect data and prepare recurring and special reports including statistics.
• Identify errors/trends and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with service personnel and other DHS programs.
